Install in Chrome, Edge or Brave

The browser installs the extracted folder, not the ZIP file itself.

First, download and unzip itDownload the Chrome package. On Windows, right-click → Extract All. On macOS, double-click the ZIP. Keep the extracted folder somewhere permanent.
  1. Open the extensions page.Enter chrome://extensions in Chrome, edge://extensions in Edge, or brave://extensions in Brave.
  2. Turn on Developer mode.Use the switch in the top-right corner. The Load unpacked button then appears.
  3. Choose Load unpacked.Select the extracted folder that contains manifest.json—not the ZIP and not an individual file.
  4. Pin ShareIt.onl.Open the toolbar’s extensions menu and pin ShareIt.onl for one-click access.
  5. Connect your account.Open the extension and choose Sign in or create account. After signing in, the same button opens My Files.

Chrome may remind you that a developer-mode extension is installed when the browser starts. Automatic updates begin once the Chrome Web Store listing is approved; until then, download a new package to update manually.

Chrome permissionsAccess to ShareIt.onl for uploads, clipboard access for Copy link, and context menus for the right-click shortcut.
Data accessNo browsing history, page contents, cookies or passwords are read.
File accessOnly files you explicitly choose are sent over HTTPS to ShareIt.onl. Other files remain untouched.
What it is notIt does not watch browsing activity and is not a background desktop-sync client.
Folder backupThe extension shares files you select. Automatic folder backup remains available in the ShareIt web app while it is open.
