Send Files From One Phone to Another

Android to iPhone, iPhone to Android, or the same on both - it makes no difference here. Open this page on the phone that is receiving, then scan its code with the other phone.

How it works

  1. On the receiving phone - the one that wants the files - keep this page open.
  2. On the sending phone, open the camera and scan the code on the other phone's screen. Holding the two together works fine.
  3. Pick the photos or files and send them.
  4. They appear on the receiving phone, ready to save to its gallery or Files app.

Why people use this

AirDrop only talks to Apple

And Nearby Share only to Android. Between the two there is normally nothing - this works across both.

Tips

  • Can't scan a screen? Tap Copy under the code and send the link over any chat app instead.
  • Both phones need to be online, but they do not need to be on the same Wi-Fi - this works across a table or across a country.
  • Moving a whole camera roll is better done in a few batches than one enormous one.

  • No account on either device, to send or to receive.
  • Encrypted in transit, at a random link that is never listed or indexed.
  • Deleted automatically when the link expires - nothing lingers.
  • The room closes after 2 hours. Anyone holding its link can send into it, so don't post it publicly.

Can I send files from Android to iPhone?
Yes, and from iPhone to Android. Open this page on the receiving phone and scan its code with the sending phone. AirDrop and Nearby Share cannot cross between the two; this can.
Do I need an app like SHAREit installed?
No. This runs in the browser that is already on both phones - nothing to install, and no permissions to grant beyond the camera for scanning.
Does it use Bluetooth or Wi-Fi Direct?
Neither. Files travel over the internet, so there is no pairing step and no devices mysteriously failing to find each other. Both phones do need to be online.
Is this good for setting up a new phone?
For photos and documents, yes - pick exactly what you want rather than restoring everything. For apps and settings, use your phone maker's own migration tool.
How do I scan a code that is on another phone's screen?
Hold the phones a few inches apart and point one camera at the other's screen. If the screen is too dim or cracked, use the Copy button and send the link instead.
