How ShareIt.onl Works

No magic, no fine print - Here is exactly what happens to your files from upload to deletion.

In a nutshell
  • Upload up to 10 files (200 MB total) over an encrypted connection - no account.
  • Get a short link and QR code instantly; add a password or one-time limit if you want.
  • Links expire on your schedule (24 hours by default), and every download keeps a link alive another 24 hours.
  • When a link expires, the files are permanently deleted - Nothing lingers.

1. You upload your files

Drop up to 10 files (200 MB total) into the uploader. The files travel to our server over an encrypted HTTPS connection - The same protection your bank's website uses. You pick a lifetime for the share: 1 hour, 12 hours, 24 hours, 3 days or 7 days.

2. We create a private share link

Your share gets a random 8-character address like shareit.onl/s/k3vq8xat. It isn't listed anywhere, isn't guessable in practice, and we tell search engines not to index share pages at all. We also generate a QR code that points at the same link, so a phone can grab the files with a camera scan.

3. Your recipient downloads

Anyone who has the link sees a simple download page with the file names and sizes - No account, no app, no "create a free trial to continue". One click and the original, untouched file lands on their device.

4. The link expires and files are deleted

By default a link expires after 24 hours (you can choose up to 7 days). When the timer runs out, the link stops working and the files are permanently deleted from our servers - Not archived, not soft-deleted, gone.

Used links stay alive. Every time someone downloads from a link, we keep it alive for another 24 hours. So a share people are actively using never disappears out from under them, while forgotten links clean themselves up on schedule. Turn on "Delete after first download" if you want the link to burn out the instant it's used once.

How it works - FAQ

Is ShareIt.onl really free?
Yes - Uploading and sharing are completely free, with no account, no credit card, and no hidden limits beyond 200 MB per share.
How long do share links last?
By default a link expires after 24 hours, and you can choose 1 hour, 7 days or 30 days instead. Each download also keeps a link alive for another 24 hours, and untouched links expire and are deleted.
Do I need an account to send or receive?
No. Neither the sender nor the recipient needs an account. You upload and get a link; they click the link and download.
Is it safe to share files here?
Files move over encrypted HTTPS, each share lives at a random unlisted link, and files are permanently deleted when the link expires. Add a password or a one-time link for extra protection.
Can I add a password or make the link one-time?
Yes. Open Options in the uploader to set a password, or turn on 'delete after first download' so the link burns out the moment someone downloads.
